Stephanie is co-owner of Body Wellness DC. She has been a practicing physical therapist for close to 20 years, focusing on orthopedics, manual therapy, and ergonomics. Stephanie completed both her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science and her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from The George Washington University, and she earned her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Montana. Stephanie is a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy, and a certified advanced ergonomics assessment specialist.
Stephanie is passionate about working with her clients to find movement and ergonomic solutions that help them reach their full potential. She enjoys treating orthopedic conditions, especially spinal dysfunction. Stephanie has served as an adjunct faculty member at The George Washington University Program in Physical therapy, and as a volunteer and board member at the Little Workers of the Sacred Heart pro bono physical therapy clinic in Washington, DC. Stephanie is also a consulting ergonomist with the World Bank Group. When Stephanie is not working she enjoys spending time at home in Washington, DC with her husband Tony and their three children.
I cannot recommend Stephanie Coleman any more highly! She is a patient and thoughtful therapist. She listens closely to her client’s concerns and can usually pinpoint things very quickly because she has such great working knowledge of anatomy and physiology. But the best thing about Stephanie is her practical approach. She wants her clients to be functional and pain-free—Stephanie is awesome about thinking about common things that can exacerbate a chronic problem, how to change a movement pattern so pain is controlled, giving exercises that are schedule-friendly and reasonable to do. “
