What’s different about physical therapy at Body Wellness?
At Body Wellness, we strive to provide the individualized program you need to get you back to doing the things you love. We recognize that our patients are highly motivated individuals who take an active role in their own care. Your goals and progress are assessed each time you come in and adapted so that you are meeting your personal goals, whatever they may be. Whether your long term goal is to be able to walk the dog without pain or complete a marathon, we can help map out a plan to get you there.
We take pride in our wealth of knowledge and experience treating a wide variety of both complex and non complex diagnoses. Our practice is different in that we always evaluate the whole individual – not just a body part. We recognize that in many cases, a person’s pain or weakness is multifactorial. At Body Wellness our training focuses on manual therapy, guided exercises, and prevention and wellness strategies that assist in treating not just your symptoms, but also the underlying cause of dysfunction. This approach helps our clients overcome injuries, improve performance, and ultimately realize their full potential.
If you’re looking for a long term solution rather than yet another short term fix, we can help. We are happy to offer both in person and telehealth visits. We regularly work with clients on:
- Complex back and neck pain
- Sciatica/Radiculopathy
- Hip and shoulder impingement
- Knee Pain
- Hypermobility
- Post Surgical Rehabilitation
- Returning to sport
- Returning to running
- Postural dysfunction
- Myofascial pain and restriction
What should you expect at your first visit?
As a client, you will work one on one with your therapist each time you come in, not with aides or assistants.
Your therapist will listen to your story – including what you think may be the cause and solution to your problem. Our years of experience have taught us that the patient knows more about their own body than anyone else!
Your therapist will then evaluate your movement, strength, muscle length, posture, and any other pertinent details. After a thorough evaluation your therapist will educate you on your diagnosis and together you’ll design a plan to help you reach your goals.
Your treatment plan may include:
- Myofascial release & soft tissue mobilization
- Joint mobilization
- Postural re-education
- Neuromuscular re-education
- Gait training
- Trigger point dry needling
- Guided therapeutic exercise
- Home exercise plan
- Symptom management strategies
